Chick-Fil-A

It is the best of restaurants, it is the worst of drive-thru waits, it was the age of spicy nuggets, it is the age of mac and cheese, it was the epoch of playplaces, it was the epoch of Red Status, it was the weekdays of Light, it was the Sundays of Darkness, it was the summer of peach, it was the winter of peppermint, we had hours sat in booths before of us, we had mobile orders before us, we all recognized the overplayed instrumental Christian songs, we all ordered salads from time to time– in short, the restaurant is so far like it was, that some of its current customers criticized it, for its food or its foundations, in the loudest of “woke” Twitter posts only.

First of all, who orders a salad from Chick-fil-a?! That’s definitely a crime. Second of all, “the Sundays of darkness” part was way too true. I loved your creative take on the prompt. Great job!

“woke” Twitter post or not, everyone keeps coming back to it 🙂 I’m not someone who really eats out (unless I’m stranded in Fort Collins with nothing to eat), and you still managed to resonate. Great post.

I was “shook” by the “Sundays of Darkness” to capture the dread of the craving on a day of sacred closure. I have to ask, does Chick-fil-a serve mac and cheese?!
